Registered Nurse – Ambulatory Care

POSITION SUMMARY

Our client is one of the few stand-alone, global leaders in Pediatric Health and is home to over 400+ staff and Physicians dedicated to helping children and youth live their best lives. They are currently looking for Registered Nurse (RN) - Ambulatory Care responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care for individual patients and families. The nurse assigned to this position is required to function independently and as a member of the Cardiology team in order to provide family focused and evidence based nursing practice .

DUTIES INCLUDE:

The primary responsibility of this position is as a Cardiology Clinic Nurse (Case Manager) as well as duties in the Cardiac Cath. Lab. Other duties include telephone counselling for families, extensive teaching of families and other health care professionals, participation in all clinical activities, participation in research and continuous learning to develop expertise in the specialty. Flexibility in scheduling with ability to work days, evenings, and/or weekends and potential for on-call shifts

QUALIFICATIONS
 
  • Vulnerable Sector Check (Essential)
  • Current Certification of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (Essential)
  • Bilingualism (English/French) (Essential)
  • BScN (current or in progress) (Preferred)
  • Minimum two years Paediatric experience (Preferred)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (Essential)
  • Strong teaching skills (Essential)
  • Demonstrated professionalism and interest in self development (Essential)
  • Previous knowledge/experience with cardiology patients (Essential)
  • Demonstrated strong family centered care skills (Essential)
  • Ambulatory Care experience (Preferred)
  • Experience in Cardiology (Essential)
  • Experience with EPIC/Optime electronic documentation (Preferred)
  • Cardiac Cath Lab Experience or Equivalent (Preferred)
