POSITION SUMMARY
Our client is one of the few stand-alone, global leaders in Pediatric Health and is home to over 400+ staff and Physicians dedicated to helping children and youth live their best lives. The are currently looking for a full time Psychologist to offer services to the Mental Health Consultation Liaison service. Services to be provided include cognitive, behavioural, and social-emotional assessment, diagnostic formulation, consultation – liaison and intervention. The Psychologist will function as part of an interdisciplinary Consultation-Liaison (CL) health care team.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Provide comprehensive psychological assessments, with a focus on diagnostic formulation, diagnosis, and delineating the interplay between health and mental health issues.
Consultation and treatment services for both inpatients and outpatients presenting with medical or surgical conditions. Liaison with other health care professionals within the hospital with regard to assessment findings and recommendations, and their implications for the management of the child/youth.
Liaise with community services, Intake and Young Minds Partnership at the hospital. Provide supervision/training of pre-doctoral psychology interns and offer learning opportunities to other student professionals in training.
Assist with program evaluation initiatives and participate, as appropriate, with the development of research projects that reflect the interdisciplinary nature of the clinical services provided by the team.
Collaborate with Psychologists to assist with coverage and backup during vacations and exceptionally busy times
Other mental health duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Police Record Check (PRC)(Essential)
Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from a CPA or APA accredited clinical psychology program (Essential)
Registration as a Psychologist in Ontario or eligibility for registration as a Psychologist (Essential)
Designated practice as a psychologist in the area of Clinical Psychology with children and adolescents (Essential)
Experience in health psychology (Preferred) Experience in the provision of comprehensive psychological assessments (including cognitive, behavioural and personality measures) to a pediatric medical and mental health population (Essential)
Experience in providing short-term interventions to children with complex medical and mental health conditions (Essential)
Experience with crisis intervention (Essential)
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with other health professionals (Essential)
Bilingual – Fluency in both French and English (Preferred)
